Raven was dead. Former lover, current friend, almost sister. He remembered when she said he was like a brother.

Speedy--Roy, stood on a rooftop, focused on the target several yards away from him. He loosed arrow after arrow, as if that would actually help. He didn't stop, didn't want to stop, even when his arms were shaking from exhaustion and his fingertips started to bleed from pulling on the bowstring umpteen times.

Starfire, having smashed up the gym real good, was flying now, trying to get the emotions out. And knowing Starfire, there was a lot of emotion.

Her eyes caught the sight of the familiar yellow arrows, and turned, hovering in the air, and slowly approached Speedy.

He saw Starfire out of the corner of his eyes and nodded wordlessly, not interrupting the flow of movement, hand to arrow to string.

Starfire sat on the edge of the building, and simply watched him.

Her glowing eyes began to dim.

He waited until he finished his quiver and went back to retrieve the arrows before speaking.

"You heard?" His voice was a bit hoarse, from keeping himself from screaming or crying out or sobbing.

"Ja blow anything up? Let it out?" He fired another arrow with unecessary force, and missed the bulls-eye.

"I destroyed most of the Tower's gymnasium." Starfire now unconsciously fiddled her hands together.

He let out a short, bark of laughter that sounded completely fake. "Sure it won't matter. Can always rebuild." He fired again, this time closer to the center.
